Centennial Airport
Centennial Airport, or APA, is a public-use airport in the Denver-Aurora metropolitan area. The Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority owns the airport. It is categorized as a reliever airport and covers 1,400 acres. In 2018 there were 337,947 aircraft operations: 89% general aviation, 10% air taxi, and 2% military. There are three runways: 17L/35R, which is 10,000 by 100 feet (asphalt); 17R/35L, which is 7,001 by 77 feet (asphalt); and 10/28, which is 4,800 by 75 feet (asphalt).
Airport history
The airport opened on May 12th, 1968. Originally named Arapahoe County Airport, it was renamed Centennial Airport on July 13th, 1984 (this commemorates Colorado's admission into the Union in 1876, the centennial of the Declaration of Independence). In 1986 a new control tower was built.

The airport is located 15 miles southwest of downtown Denver.
