Marco Island Executive Airport

Marco Island Executive Airport, also known as Marco Island Airport or MRK (to the IATA) or MKY (to the FAA), is a public airport in Naples, Collier County, Florida. In 2019, the airport had 58,430 aircraft operations, 50% general local aviation, 42% transient general aviation, 8% air taxi, and less than 1% military. There were 26 aircraft based at the airport, 22 single-engine, two multi-engine, one jet, and one helicopter. The airport covers 140 acres, and there is one runway: 17/35, 5,000 by 100 feet (asphalt).

Airport history

MRK was completed in 1976, having been planned to complement a resort area south of Naples (now known as Marco Island). Initially, the airport was used primarily by real estate developers as a marketing tool, whereby prospective buyers were flown in from Miami. Later, the developers turned the airport over to the State of Florida, which leased the airport to Collier County in the 1980s. The airport was maintained by the county, which in 1993 formed the Collier County Airport Authority, whose role was to develop and manage the airport.

Airport location

The airport is located four miles northeast of the central business district of Marco Island.

Airport facts
