Chester County G. O. Carlson Airport
Chester County G. O. Carlson Airport, or CTH (to the IATA) or MQS (to the FAA), is a public airport in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The FBO on location is Signature Flight Support. In the year ending November 17th, 2006, the airport had 52,000 aircraft operations, with 94% general aviation, 6% air taxi, and less than 1% military. The airport covers 250 acres and has one runway: 11/29, which is 5,400 by 100 feet (asphalt).
Airport history
The airport was originally Coatesville Airport in 1928 and was owned and operated by the city of Coatesville. In 1959 it was purchased by Chester County, which promptly took over operations. As a result, the airport was renamed the Chester County Airport, and the Chester County Area Airport Authority was formed. In 1969 the airport was again renamed to honor the first chairman of the Authority, G. O Carlson.

- There is a 12-year plan in place whereby a new apron is planned south of the runway, hangars for corporate jets will be constructed, as well as a 6,000-foot long runway (which will be better aligned with the winds). Should the need arise, an air traffic control tower may also be constructed.
