Pisa International Airport
Pisa International Airport, also named Galileo Galilei Airport or PSA to the IATA and LIRP to the ICAO, is the primary airport in Tuscany. It is the 10th-busiest airport in Italy regarding passenger volume and is a focus city for Ryanair. In 2017, it served 5.2 million passengers. In 2021, there were 23,396 aircraft movements. There are two runways: 04R/22L, which is 9,849 by 148 feet; and 04L/22R, which is 9,163 by 141 feet).
Airport history
PSA originated in the 1930s, as it was developed for the Italian military. During the culmination of WWII, it was also a base for the 15th Air Force of the United States Army Air Forces. In 2006 and 2007, it was the fastest-growing (in terms of passengers served) among Italy's 15 largest airports, with a 30% increase in 2006 and a 24% increase in 2007. The following year it had risen to the 11th busiest airport in Italy.

- The airport is named for Galileo Galilei, the famous scientist who was also a native of Pisa.
- The airport is also used extensively by the Italian Air Force and is home to the 46ª Brigata Aerea Silvio Angelucci (46th Air Brigade).
