Cancun International Airport

Cancun International Airport, or CUN to the IATA and MMUN to the ICAO, is an international airport in Quintana Roo, Mexico. The second busiest airport in Mexico, it is operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR). The airport has four terminals with 62 gates. In 2021, 22,318,467 passengers were served at the airport. There are two runways: 12R/30L, which is 11,483 feet (asphalt); and 12L/30R, which is 9,186 feet (asphalt).

Airport history

CUN originated in 1974 and was officially opened on May 12th, 1975. In 2007 Terminal 3 (with 21 gates) opened at the cost of $150 million. Moreover, in October 2009, a new 9,200-foot runway and air traffic control tower (at 318 feet, the tallest in Latin America) opened. In 2014, terminals 2 and 3 were expanded, with Terminal 3 adding six gates and new commercial areas as part of an 820,000-square-foot expansion. Yet the airport continued to be crowded, which brought about the opening of Terminal 4 in October 2017, with 12 new gates and the ability to handle 9 million passengers annually.

Airport location

The airport is located in Cancún, on the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula.

There are a few ways to calculate private jet cost. You can charter your jet with XO and be done with it. Or, you can opt for purchasing an aircraft, which will lead to eternal calculations that won't let up, including storage fees, crew fees, and on and on. We think the choice is obvious, don't you?
