Leonard M. Thompson International Airport, or MHH to the IATA and MYAM to the ICAO, is an international airport serving Marsh Harbour, The Bahamas. The second-busiest airport in The Bahamas, MHH offers service to Nassau and several US cities. One runway is 09/27, which is 6,100 by 98 feet (asphalt).

Airport history

Information regarding the history of MHH is limited. It was initially named Marsh Harbour International Airport. The current runway was opened in 2007 when the old runway was converted into a taxiway. On May 27th, 2014, the airport terminal was opened. Notable for its architectural elements that reflect the culture of the Bahamas, the 51,000-square-foot terminal features 22 counter positions, a new luggage scanning system, two restaurants, and more. On May 25th, 2016, the airport was renamed Leonard M. Thompson International Airport, after the Hope Town native who flew bombers for the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII.
