Marmaris

Lying on Turkey's Turquoise Coast (Marmaris Bay is where the Aegean meets the Mediterranean), Marmaris is known for its beach and resorts. The coast features rugged peninsulas and many small islands and is perfect for yachting expeditions. These can be done by renting a yacht and going about it yourself (if you're experienced) or by renting a fully crewed yacht. Some of the most beautiful beaches are a short drive from town, with sheltered bays and pine tree-covered hills, while a tour along the breathtaking Datça Peninsula is also highly recommended. For the historically inclined, Marmaris Castle and Old Town are perfect for exploration, as well as the ruins at Kaunas and Knidos. For nightlife, Bar Street is home to open-air clubs and music venues and is known for being lively at night till the early hours.
