Yerevan

The capital of Armenia, Yerevan, features a good deal of Soviet-era architecture. Nicknamed the "Pink City" because of the color of the stones used to build much of the city center, the city dates back to the 8th century. The Cascade Complex is a giant stairwell with eight levels built during Soviet times, and each level provides different views of the city. The massive Republic Square is home to the History Museum, the National Gallery, and the Government House. It is also known for its musical fountains. The city is also known for its many parks, the Japanese-inspired Lover's Park being chief among them.
